Entry-Level Gifts

Don't overlook the importance of "entry level gifts," says John Schroeder of the Timothy Group. While serving as a development director for a nonprofit, he followed up with a personal phone call to a couple that sent a $100 gift. That phone call led to personal visits, in which John discovered that the couple had an interest in setting up a family foundation. John helped them through the process. The couple was very pleased with John's service and responded with a generous gift.
