Regional Major Gift Directors are senior fundraisers on the Mastermedia International Advancement Team with regional responsibilities working from home-offices. A Regional Major Gifts Director is charged with identifying, cultivating and soliciting new, renewed, and increased gifts of financial support primarily from individuals and secondarily from corporations, churches and organizations within a defined geographic area.
Objectives
Strategy Development: Work with the Sr. Vice President to develop an annual regional plan which includes short and long-term individual major gift goals and priorities; development of church strategies; and the development of corporate strategies.
Donor Prospecting, Cultivation and Solicitation: Track and manage the stewardship of existing major donors in the region, including development of plans for identifying and presenting giving opportunities and assessing giving readiness and potential; devise and implement strategies and procedures for identifying new prospects; develop and coordinate local small to mid-sized major gift fundraising activities and events. Attend events, conference and other functions as needed to represent Mastermedia International among potential and existing major donors. Visit donors regularly and according to plan to cultivate interest, report back, minister personally and request funding support.
Administrative Management: Provide timely updates regarding all aspects of the major gifts program; prepare and present progress reports to senior management as required; ensure that major donor files are properly maintained; manage administrative processes to ensure that major donors are thanked and recognized in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
A bachelor’s degree—preferably in a field conducive to sales and marketing; public relations, communication or non-profit management
Minimum of 3 years in major donor fundraising with demonstrated financial success preferred. A strong background in consultative sales acceptable.

Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining long-term client relationships
Knowledge of foundations, grant writing, planned giving and other major donor funding tools a plus
Strong communications, organization, analytical and interpersonal skills
Self-starter, able to work independently and remotely to accomplish goals
Strong strategist, goal-oriented, good with follow through
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
