Description: The Executive Director of Development provides senior direction for the University’s development/fund raising program working in close coordination with the Senior Vice President of External Relations. This leader models effective fund-raising activities by personally working with a portfolio of donors as well as building and helping to support effective donor strategies for the local and distance Development Representatives. The Director is responsible for functioning consistently within established University budgets, policies and other operating procedures as required effectively fulfilling the position’s responsibilities.
The successful candidate will have:
Substantial fund-raising experience and the ability to manage a personal portfolio of Major donors and lead the annual fund programs of the University
An ability to lead and manage development services as well as church relations
A strong sense of team and collaborative working relationships
A servant-leader way of life acting in a manner that exemplifies Jesus Christ in all on and off campus contacts thereby living out the servant leadership mission of the university
A baccalaureate degree required; a Master’s in business, public relations or other related fields preferred
Eight to ten years of increasingly responsible experience in fund-raising with a not-for-profit organization and preferably in education
Skills in leadership, supervision, administration, planning, budgeting, costing, prioritizing, organization, and marketing
Superior written and oral communication abilities
